I Love You Vintage ♥

I have a serious problem.
I compulsively buy vintage. I can’t resist walking up to old ladies and telling them I love their cameo pins. I dig through nasty crap at thrift stores just to try to find an old brooch or necklace.
I love it.
What is it about vintage that just makes me (and so many other people) just fall in love? What is it about pin-up girls that is so alluring and sexy? Sepia, toned down colors, high waisted panties and garters, red lips- it all makes for such a head rush of…awesome!
Not to mention…oxford shoes!! They’ve made such a comeback lately, along with nude lace, damask print, and the fabulous sailor stripe.
Women from the ‘old days’ wore red lips and pretty ringlets and held their composure no matter what! They talked intelligently and knew just how to manage crowds and arrogant men. If that isn’t beautiful then what is?
So I have a funny story about this pretty necklace. This older lady (who I like, love!) was wearing this and I told her how much I loved it and guess what she did? She took it right off her neck and put it on mine! I stood there stunned, saying “Are you sure?” and “Thank you!”
Later last night I looked on the back and inscribed is the word “Avon”.
Avon used to be called The California Perfume Company but changed to the name they have now in 1939. I’ve found old necklaces from Avon all over the internet with chains similar to the necklace I have but I can’t find this anywhere!
Vintage will always inspire me and be something of beauty. When things go in and out of style, vintage pieces will always be staples in my wardrobe. This can’t go out of style for me! The women of old times will always be my role models for their classy style, impeccable social skills, and all around beauty- whether it be on the outside or the glow within them.
What do you love most about vintage?
I’m Back With A Made-Over Attitude! My Seven Commandments:
So…last year I had something pretty good going here. Then I lost my computer and never got back to this. In all that time I learned quite a few things.
1.) I should NEVER try to compete with other blogs. Yes, hits and comments are always great and appreciated, however I promise not to post something unless I care about it. Unless it gives me joy to share with everyone. Blogs shouldn’t be a popularity contest. YouTube has definitely turned into one, I’m all for keeping the blogging community free of that nonsense.
2.) I should NEVER care what the hell people think of what I post! I will absolutely do my best not to offend anyone (and I don’t think I will have a problem with that happening anyway) but to hell with pleasing everyone. No matter what you do there will always be some person who doesn’t like it.
3.) I don’t have to be fancy for my work to mean something. I’ll be real with you all, I’m not thin. I don’t have a never ending stash of makeup. I don’t have an amazing camera with amazing filters. I don’t have a lot of money. That doesn’t make my posts not worthwhile. At least everything I write will absolutely be from the heart.
4.) I never want this to be a chore for me. Ever.
5.) Many bloggers get ‘found out’ so to speak because they don’t treat their fans with respect and are fake. One day people just start catching on and many fans find out that their favorite blogger is a total liar and not nearly the person they thought they were. That’s total bull. Nobody ever has to be fake. Period. So I’m telling you that you can count on me to be completely REAL.
6.) I will do my very best to be open when it comes to criticism. It’s not easy, but I’ll do my best. Nobody has to kiss my butt for me to be happy.
7.) Randomness is great! That’s not exactly a new thing I’ve learned, but it’s just…great! I want to blog about stuff I really like, not just one type of topic. When I discover a band, I want to share it with you guys. I want your opinions on things. I want to teach you things…I’m totally re-doing this blog and making it just everything awesome! Always feel free to make a request too! I freaking love that.
Thank you for reading
I think I’m going to put my ‘Seven Commandments’ in my About Me section too so it won’t be hard to find them whenever more posts are up. I love and appreciate all of your support!
High Fashion Hair Bows! How To Make Them :D
Hair bows are my all time favorite accessory!
I think bows can go with anything. You can use materials (like silk, satin, velvet) to create a dressy one or other ones (like cotton, polyester) to wear on regular casual days.
I’ve loved bows for a really long time but they’ve been made popular by the likes of Audrey Kitching, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, and many other celebrities and models. This tutorial will show you how to make a hair bow. You can use this to make a bigger or smaller one and you can always add stuff too!

I loved these undies but I never wore them (they were very uncomfortable) but at least I can wear them now!
You’ll need:
- A half yard of fabric ( you will need less than that but we’re going to cut a piece from it)
- A needle and thread
- Scissors
- Glitter glue, rhinestones, buttons, iron on stickers, or anything you want to put on it (totally optional)
I put dashes along the rectangle to cut out. I always put two pieces of fabric on top of each other and cut them at once to save time. You can make these pieces as big or small as you’d like.
It doesn’t really matter which kind you use since it’s going to be on the inside of the bow.
Sew around the edges. Take care to make your stitches small so that they’re strong! Stop sewing when there’s about a centimeter left to sew.
Turn the rectangle normal-side-out through the centimeter-wide hole you left when you were sewing. It will be sort of hard but just keep pulling the fabric through…it will come eventually (it doesn’t take long). If you want (or if your bow is going to be big) you can stuff it to make it poofy. Cut a small piece of fabric. This is what will go around the bow (then it will look like a bow and not a rectangle).

I used the part of the underwear where that cute little button was! The little strip of fabric only needs to be about an inch and a half (at the most) but it can be bigger or smaller depending on the size you make it.
For this little piece of fabric, sew it the way you did the perimeter of the rectangle and turn it right-side-out so that the stitches are on the inside. It should make a ring or circle.
Put the rectangle that you made through the ring of fabric and pull it to the middle. When you’re done with this you can decorate it with whatever you want. Then you’re done!
You can put a headband through the loop or a bobby pin to attach it to your hair.
